Redemption Collection 8/3/2018
How often have you messed up? Overreacted, underestimated or put something off until it was too late?
Ever have someone you care about disappoint, hurt, or even kind of break you? But then, the moment comes when your perspective gets changed. When you can see what was and all it could have been. You spend a healthy amount of time grieving that and giving it up. You are able to really see what remains and what it can be now through fresh eyes of Hope. Suddenly, the road ahead is a bit brighter, the seconds a little more precious as you move on wiser and with a better sense of what REALLY holds value.
That, my friend, is REDEMPTION!
I created the Redemption Collection with a grateful heart, with my many failures, just plain blind spots, and more than a few raw hurts in mind. the collection centers around " found items", mostly beach glass and shells, partially or drastically broken, found along the Southeast Texas Gulf Coast. It also features antique chandelier crystals, rusty keys and washers, and sea beans that started off in tropical rainforests and traveled along ocean currents until they came to rest upon the beaches near my home.
My statement set is called " Sarah", named after the daughter I became pregnant with at age 16. She helped change my heart, redirect my path, and taught me more about life's most important things than anyone else. Things like the value of forgiveness coupled with acceptance, that sometimes the most beautiful things happen outside of our control. How persistence and hard work do pay off, but they do it best when done without losing sight of what is right in this moment; right now.
The necklace and earrings consist of glass fragments that in no way resemble whatever they started out to be. Yet, they are highlighted, accented and have become the focus of this medley, set among pearls and beads. They are what anchors the whole. This set is not done in sterling silver, but in bronze finished copper, ordinary in itself, but pliable when it needed to be and strong now, to hold it all together. This set took quite a bit of time to develop. The glass at one time was clear but developed the smooth matte of having been abraded by the rough sand and strong waves. everything about it reminds me of what was done in my life through that baby girl, who became the young lady I was so proud of, who became a woman whose friendship I hold dear. The blue green pearls and beads give it a fresh feel that will adapt itself to any number of looks and outfits. It seems obvious that the "Sarah" set will remain my favorite, though, just like with the daughters who came after- I will never say for sure.
I hope you enjoy viewing my entire Redemption Collection. Maybe something here tells YOUR Redemption Story. I would Love to HEAR it!
